We are selling items from our reel2reeltexas.com vintage recording collection. This is the Shield M102 modeled after the classic Calrad 500C which copied the RCA professional series microphones (also released by Aiwa, Crown and others from 1960 to 1970). This Shield M102 is larger and heavier at 7 inches high. Over all it's a great display mic! It is not working, however we have not explored it further than a plug in test. It is wired for multiple outputs and has a switch with S / Off / P. A new mic stand is included in its original box. As this mic is about 40 years old, we are selling it "as is." We are selling duplicate items and parts from our reel2reeltexas.com vintage recording collection. This is the classic Calrad 500C which copied the RCA professional series microphones (also released by Aiwa, Crown and others from 1960 to 1970). The Calrad 500C is 6 inches high. Over all it's a great display mic! This mic is not working. It has a short cord with no plug. The back of the chrome top is discolored. The yoke is missing the part that attaches the mic to a mic stand (see photo). No mike stand is included. The stand in the picture is for reference with the mic balanced on the stand. The stand may be bought for an additional $15.00. As this mic is about 50 years old, we are selling it "as is." We are selling duplicate items from our reel2reeltexas.com vintage recording collection. This is the classic Calrad VM-12 Velocity ribbon microphone that copied the RCA professional series microphones (also released by Aiwa and others from 1941 to 1949). It is similar in size to the RCA DX77. When we plugged the mic in we heard a crisp solid sound when tapping the mic. The sound was weak when I talked into the mic. This microphone has a great look and we provide photos of it beside our RCA DX77. The RCA DX77 is NOT for sale. To give you a sense of the size of this mic (The Calrad VM-12 is almost 8 inches high vs 6 inches for the Calrad 500C), we provide a photo of the Calrad VM-12 beside the classic Calrad 500c pill microphone. This Calrad 500C mic is NOT for sale, however we do have others that are for sale. The Calrad VM-12 is much heavier than the smaller mic. It has scrapes and some discoloration (see photos). Over all its a great historical display mic! A new mic stand is included in its original box. It is a small desk stand non-adjustable vs the one in the photos. If you want the larger adjustable stand it will be an additional $25. As this mic is almost 70 years old, we are selling it "as is." Phantom Productions, Inc. vintage recording collection 
began in 1998 with a 1904 Edison cylinder player. It has since grown to the many recorders noted on this web site. We've produced a video tour of our vintage recording collection. There are more than 150 reel to reel tape recorders and other unique items related to recording. This is a 3 DVD 7 hour set that also includes a brief history of sound recording and a segment on how the tape recorder works. Also we include a segment on our on-location recording work around the State of Texas.
