Mike Pappas

Mike Pappas is a native of Wisconsin, currently living in Denver, Colorado. He opened his first recording studio in 1975 and worked for various major pro audio manufactures for a number of years. He recently spent the last 12 years doing more than 1500 live sporting events for major television networks and has work on such high profile events as the 2000 Democratic National Convention, The Masters, The Indy 500 and Super Bowl 37 where he has garnered multiple Emmy nominations.

He has recorded and broadcast national and international Jazz Artists for clients like KUVO Radio, National Public Radio, and Jazzset with Dee Dee Bridgewater. He has over 500 hours of live concert 5.1 surround HD Radio broadcasts to his credit. He has been the featured lecturer on 5.1 surround recording and broadcast techniques for the Audio Engineering Society and has recently toured Germany lecturing on surround recording techniques for Neumann and Sennheiser. He has written articles on surround for Pro Sound News, Pro Audio Review, Radio World and Radio Magazine. Since 1994 he has been the chief engineer at KUVO Jazz 89 in Denver and was responsible for KUVO being the first FM HD Radio Station on the air in Colorado along with being the first station to broadcast 5.1 Surround on HD Radio. He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, and National Radio System Committee.
